PALI and Kalei Gamiao on Perry and Price, Ukulele Picnic Promo!February 6th, 2010 | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment » PALI and Kalei Gamiao were the guest on Perry and Price show this morning as we talked about the upcoming Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii Vol 2. Southern All Star’s Sekiguchi-san and his wife, president of ukulele foundation, Jody Kamisato…all came out to support. PALI featuring Kalei Gamiao will be performing from 6:05pm on Feb 13th at Kakaako Waterfront Park…so be there!! きょうは、KSSKのペリー＆プライスショーに、パリがカレイ・ガミアオ君と一緒に出演、１曲パフォーマンスをして、サザンオールスターズのベーシストであり多彩な活躍をされている関口和之さんの、ウクレレピクニック・イン・ハワイのプロモーションをしました。もちろん関口さんご夫婦もいらっしゃいました！
『日本語でなんかメッセージをおねがいします』と言われていた関口さん。日本のビートルズ、ローリングストーンズと言われてましたが、家族で是非きてくださ〜い。とおっしゃったあと、通訳さんも隣にたっていたのですが、『なに言ったかまったくわからないけどありがとう〜（笑）』とペリー。楽しい番組です。
Jody Kamisatoがみんなと代表としてウクレレピクニックの宣伝をしていました。
ジミーバフェット＠ビーチコマーで生公開放送しているペリー＆プライス。さすが人気長寿番組とあって、たくさんのお客さんが朝食ビュッフェとトークを楽しみにきていました。沢山のゲストが毎回きますが、Kapenaもきていましたよ。

Had a blast hanging out and jamming with Imua Garza, Glenn Mayeda, and Barry Flanagan. And after a bit, Sistah Robi showed up too! Mahalo to Hiro and Ryoji’s `ohana for the hospitality and great food. お友達のリョウジさんのパパのお家に招かれて、ジャムセッションをしました。パリ、HAPAのバリー、Imua Garza、そして元ピリオハのグレン、そして遅い時間にロビ・カハカラウも顔をだしました。リョウジオハナの美味しいお料理に夢のようなお家・・とても楽しいひとときを過ごさせて頂きました。お招きいただき本当にありがとうございました！
Na Hoku O Hawaii Music Festival 2010 Press ConferenceJanuary 21st, 2010 | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment » Press Conference for Na Hoku O Hawaii Music Festival was held at Hawaii Convention Center today. Pali went on behalf of Ku’uipo Kumukahi today representing HARA. It’s going to be a HUGE event so make sure you participate…May 27-30!! 5/27-30までの4日間に渡って行われることになったナ・ホク・ハノハノ・アワードのフェスティバル企画、 HARAを代表して、風邪でダウン中のプレジデント、クウイポ・クムカヒに代わって、バイスプレジデントのパリがスピーチをしました。他にも、このイベントのイベント制作会社、Four Miles LLC、そしてHTAを代表してバイスプレジデントのDavid Uchiyamaがこの記者会見にかけつけました。
左から、HARAのボードメンバー、ケネス、リア、そしてアーチストのカヴィカ・カヒアポ、真ん中の３名はFour Milesのスタッフ、そしてパリ。
HARAのメンバーもみなさん現役のミュージシャン達が多く、みんなボランティアで、ハワイの音楽を活性化させ、継承し、世界へ広めていこうと日々頑張っているので、みんなのスケジュールがあうのもひと苦労。でも、このイベント、内外のミュージシャンも呼んで、楽器メーカー、HTAのマーケティングパートナーなどが一体となって、ワイキキにbring back the music!!と頑張っています。世界のアーチストが大集合して、ハワイのミュージシャンとコラボったりと色々な企画が練られています。詳細はここでも発表していきますね。今年の5/27-30はハワイにいるっきゃないですよ〜〜！！

Simple but fun party this year クリスマスイブの日は、ラヴァネットのオフィスでシンプルなクリスマスパーティをしました。既にクリスマスで本土に帰っていたり、家族とお料理をしたり・・とオフィスにこの日いたのは社員の３分の１くらいでしたが（笑）今年はシンプル＆エコなクリスマスにしようと社員達が提案。ピザをオーダーしようといってたのですが、ヘルシーにサブウェイのサンドイッチに決定。スゴい数！！！
みんなが持ち寄ったクリスマスプレゼント。今年は『ホワイトエレファント』というクリスマスギフトの交換会をしました。（昨年はシークレットサンタでした）これが何かというと、既に誰かからもらったギフトで、でもあけていないもの、これをもう一度ラッピングして持ち寄りましょうというもの。こうすればエコだし、バジェットのきついこの不景気の世の中、グッドアイデアですよね。
Dokoga TVのカメラマン、ラフの奥さんルービーが、『ミドリ』ケーキを焼いてくれました。『ミドリ』というリキュールの入ったケーキなので、ちょっとアルコールが入った感じがします。
そしてラフがミドリソースをケーキにかけます。大丈夫か〜〜。
じゃ〜ん、 looks so yummy…おいしそう〜。
ぺぺもみんなの会話に混じってました・・（笑）。
これが今日、みんなでやったゲーム。この絵をみて、どのクリスマスソングのことか当てて、一番、多く当てられた人が最初に好きなギフトを選ぶ権利がある。というもの。難しかった〜このゲーム！！
パパに甘えるペペ。みんなからもご飯をいっぱいもらって、なんとオフィスにうんちしてました（汗）。（今まで一度もしたことがないのに・・ごめんなさい！）
スタッフはこの３倍くらいいるんですが・・社員のみなさん、いつもご苦労様！You guys make everything possible at Lavanet…and much mahalo.. and Mele Kalikimaka!!!

My `ohana so appreciate the well-wishes and kindness during this trying time.
上記のパリのコメントの通り、12/11の朝、パリの父親、トーマス・ウェイン・カアイフエが亡くなりました。64才、糖尿病が原因で闘病生活をここ数年続けていましたが、12/10のパリの母親の誕生日を待って、次の日、少し安心して亡くなったようにもみえました。沢山のお電話やメール、テキストなどを頂きましたが、ありがとうございます。葬儀は来週行われることになり、年内パリもパリ・オハナもちょっとバタバタしておりますが、みなさんのご理解を感謝しております。アロハ・オエ・・トーマス・カアイフエ。 Honolulu Marathon 2009December 18th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment » So, Sachi, Pepe and I did our “ganbare!!!” and Aloha!! cheering roadside for the participants of the Honolulu Marathon. Everyone that participated are incredible in my book. Our dear friend Ken Iwasaki was on KITV news as he was yet again, participating in the Honolulu Marathon. To the best of my knowledge, he’s been doing the marathon for 40+ years now. After he finishes he goes back to watch and encourage other participants. Ken was also responsible for introducing the band and I to our dear friend Kenji, as he works with the Japan Make A Wish Foundation. Speaking of which, a very well appreciated omiyage from one of the children that were with Kenji in the hospital. Mahalo!!! 先日みんなでホノルルマラソンの応援にいきました。参加されたみなさんおつかれさま・・とにかくスゴい！！ KITVのニュースを見ていたら、岩崎ケンさんもでていました。何十年にも渡りマラソンを走り続け、参加する人達を応援しているんです・・スゴいですよね。そんなケンさんはMake a wish foundationのお手伝いをしていて、もともとケンジくんを紹介してくれたのがこのケンさんでした。ありがとう！ そしてそのMake a wish foundationの子供達が作ったというクリスマスオーナメント携帯チャームをいただきました。ありがとう！！！

Shinji Aramaki was flying over the pacific and while he couldn’t celebrate with Sachi and I, he drew this for Sachi and I as he could feel the love in the air Mahalo Aramaki-san.. can’t wait to see Halo Legends! (an anime’fied Halo epic.. one of his many projects)
   The reason why Pali got hooked on Rock music…November 20th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment » Ok…. so he is the reason why Pali got so hooked on Rock music when was little… This is Brock Whaley (known world over as B-rock) from the 97.5 KPOI 98 Rock Radio station days.. listening to his radio show daily, Pali embraced rock music which help shape his guitar technique years later. He interviewed Pali on his show today… wow… A HUGE Mahalo to B-Rock rock for the interview! パリがロックにはまった理由は、このブロックさんの影響でした。KPOIというロックステーションで昔からロックDJ（B-Rock）として人気の、ブロックさんのラジオ番組を毎日小さな頃、聞いていたパリは、この番組、このDJの影響でロックにのめりこんだといいます。で、そのB-Rockが、きょう、パリをインタビュー！パリ大感動だったとか！B-Rock、ありがとう！
