They were the final act of the day, played 3 songs.. started off with Kawika, Misirlou featuring Kalei Gamiao, and …the surprise song….”Katte ni shindobaddo” by Southern All Stars with Sekiguchi-san and Hiroshi Matsuda from SAS…!!! Holy cow!!

Percussion was going… as we brought them on stage… Nobody had any idea until everybody started singing “la la la….” and they went NUTS! Such a great time, and everybody is stoked. Thank you so much for the opportunity, Sekiguchi-san, Hiroshi-san, and … ukulele picnic foundation for bringing such an awesome event to Hawaii. Pali had a great time meeting everybody that came on the tour at PF chang’s party afterwards as well. Mahalo nui and see you again next year!

ウクレレピクニック、パリがトリとして出演させていただきました。曲は３曲。Kawika、Misirlou（フィーチャリング　カレイ・ガミアオ）そして最後のサプライズソングがサザンの勝手にシンドバッド！！しかも、サザンのベース、関口さんと、サザンのドラムスの松田ヒロシさんも登場！ハワイでPALI x サザンの勝手にシンドバッド!!

観客のみなさんには全く知らされていなかったので、みんな狂気乱舞？（笑）っていう感じでした。気管支炎でダウンしていて歌えるか・・と心配していたパリですが、この日の為に、頑張りました。素晴らしい機会をいただいた関口さん、そしてヒロシさん、またウクレレファンデーションのみなさん、そしてボランティアスタッフのみなさん、楽しいイベントをハワイで行ってくれて本当にありがとうございました！また来年！

Feb 10th, (today) is their Ukulele Legends in Concert featuring Ohta-san, Eddie Kamae and Sons of Hawaii, Bill Tapia via sattelite and the special guest. Tickets are still available so be there!

Thursday night is Pakele Live! Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii Special! It’s a preview to Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii.. and Pali is bringing all the Japanese guests on stage this day.. featuring IWAO, Kiyoshi Kobayashi and Ukulele Orchestra of Japan (there will be about 26 of them on stage.. wow will they fit??) and Sekiguchi Band to wrap things off.. 6-8pm.. watch it online.. www.pakelelive.net..send them a message from anywhere in the world!

Friday and Saturday is Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii.. PALI will be performing as a last act from around 6pm, they will be featuring Kalei Gamiao, and there will be a HUGE surprise at the end… this might become a huge news for all people in Japan… (in my opinion anyway..) so make sure you be there! Sachi and I went up to our dear friend-Ryoji’s dad’s hale last night to hang out and jam a bit. Had a blast hanging out and jamming with Imua Garza, Glenn Mayeda, and Barry Flanagan. And after a bit, Sistah Robi showed up too! Mahalo to Hiro and Ryoji’s `ohana for the hospitality and great food.

お友達のリョウジさんのパパのお家に招かれて、ジャムセッションをしました。パリ、HAPAのバリー、Imua Garza、そして元ピリオハのグレン、そして遅い時間にロビ・カハカラウも顔をだしました。リョウジオハナの美味しいお料理に夢のようなお家・・とても楽しいひとときを過ごさせて頂きました。お招きいただき本当にありがとうございました！

5/27-30までの4日間に渡って行われることになったナ・ホク・ハノハノ・アワードのフェスティバル企画、
Na Hoku O Hawaii Music Festival。きょう、コンベンションセンターでプレスコンファレンスがありました。

HARAを代表して、風邪でダウン中のプレジデント、クウイポ・クムカヒに代わって、バイスプレジデントのパリがスピーチをしました。他にも、このイベントのイベント制作会社、Four Miles LLC、そしてHTAを代表してバイスプレジデントのDavid Uchiyamaがこの記者会見にかけつけました。

左から、HARAのボードメンバー、ケネス、リア、そしてアーチストのカヴィカ・カヒアポ、真ん中の３名はFour Milesのスタッフ、そしてパリ。

HARAのメンバーもみなさん現役のミュージシャン達が多く、みんなボランティアで、ハワイの音楽を活性化させ、継承し、世界へ広めていこうと日々頑張っているので、みんなのスケジュールがあうのもひと苦労。でも、このイベント、内外のミュージシャンも呼んで、楽器メーカー、HTAのマーケティングパートナーなどが一体となって、ワイキキにbring back the music!!と頑張っています。世界のアーチストが大集合して、ハワイのミュージシャンとコラボったりと色々な企画が練られています。詳細はここでも発表していきますね。今年の5/27-30はハワイにいるっきゃないですよ〜〜！！

クリスマスの日はちょっとしたパーティをしました。グループのメンバーは今回はマークしか来れませんでしたが、
ハーブ・オータ・Jr.お手製スペアリブが絶品で衝撃でした〜。カラパナのDJも美味しいハムをもってきてくれて、クウイポ・クムカヒ、カレン＆ポップスなども遊びにきてくださいました。映画をみたりしてひたすらご飯を食べて１日過ごしました。来てくださったみんなどうもありがとう！そしてまだ早いかもしれないけど、よいお年を！
